Chilled Cast Iron Roll
What are Chilled Cast Iron Rolls?
Chilled Cast Iron Rolls are high-hardness rolls specifically designed for small section bar and wire rod rolling mills. They feature a hardened surface produced by rapid cooling (chilling) during casting, which provides excellent wear resistance, thermal stability, and dimensional accuracy. These rolls are widely used in hot rolled bars, wire rod production, and medium section rolling mills, but for applications requiring deeper hardened layers or improved impact resistance, you may consider Indefinite Chilled Cast Iron Rolls. For heavier sections or higher load roughing stands, Alloy Cast Steel Rolls and Forged Steel Rolls offer greater strength and thermal crack resistance.”
Technical Specification
SC-ROLLS™️ offer multiple grades of Chilled Cast Iron Rolls tailored to different rolling applications. Each grade balances carbon, silicon, manganese, and alloying elements to achieve optimal hardness and durability:
